Listening to classical music makes me feel smarter. In all actuality I think it does make me smarter.
I HATE mirrors that make you look good. Girls you know what I mean.

I think I'm 10 pounds overweight.

I lost 30 pounds though so even with the extra 10 I'm still Ok.

I have a hard time doing my hair and makeup. It does not come natural to me at all. Some of you are shocked I bet. Lol.

I am aggressively trying to get out of debt! I will not go outside of the budget for ANYTHING.

I love scifi! Eeeeeeee. Love. Love. Love.

Aforementioned classical music makes me cry.

I get a lot of paper cuts from the mailers I do at work.

I love my job. I'm very blessed. The Lord has been very good to me. Which also makes me want to cry.

I text a lot. To the tune of thousands of texts a month. I have an all you can text package though. $10 for both my mom and I including pictures and videos.

Elliott from last years American Idol is my favorite. I will budget his new CD in when it comes out in a few weeks. I'll probably just eat less that pay period. And I NEVER buy CDs. I like him that much. The last CD I bought was Winds of War.

I'm giving myself 2 years to get out of debt. If you knew the number you'd think I wasn't giving myself enough time. I'm working my butt off though and with God's help it WILL happen.

I'm a HUGE Star Trek fan.

I watch I Love Lucy all the time. It always makes me laugh out loud.

I don't use my Sidekick anymore because the camera isn't that good and I love to Mojungle.

I like taking pictures of myself. Lol. Is that weird?

It's sad when relationships are gone.

For the first time in my whole entire life I have a beauty regimen with Sense. I have 5 steps I do at night and 4 in the morning. To my surprise I'm enjoying it and it's much easier than I thought it would be.

I just love my name!! For those that don't know. Elisabet comes from the King James version of the Spanish Bible in Luke. Of course that would make you think that there were more Latina's with my name, but there aren't. People aren't reading their Bible I guess.

My mom almost named me Ebenezer because of its meaning. Thank God her pastor's wife in Puerto Rico convinced her not to.

I was born in Puerto Rico.

I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas.

I'm fiercely proud of my heritage! The only other thing I can imagine being is possibly Jewish. Otherwise I'm PERFECT.

My dad died in 2000 when I was 16. That sucks. I'm extra sad because I wasn't serving God in that time and had just gotten into a lot of trouble. He never saw me change. So that sucks. A lot. He was young. Only 47 and he had a heart attack. We thought he was healthy too. He wasn't overweight. He exercised… Sigh.

Sometimes people ask who is older. Raul or me. FYI – He is.

I get told I look like Eva Mendes pretty often. I think that's crazy and that I don't look like her at all.

I have a little brother named Angel. Pronounced Aan-hel. He is 19.

I listen to Dave Ramsey everyday. My life is better and calmer bc of it.

I'm listening to Dave Ramsey right now and this woman just called in at the end of her rope with no hope at all. She said she thinks about dying every morning and every night. I have tears in my eyes that I'm fighting back because I remember in November when that was me. Jason helped me so much by putting a budget together for me. Saved my life. I thought there was no way out and that I might as well not be alive. It was that bad. And the situation hasn't technically changed but I've changed. Hope really does heal.

In 9^th grade I went to ORU for a huge competition that Christian schools around the nation have, and I won 1^st place in Bible Memory and 2^nd place in Bible Challenge. That's a big deal because I was one of the youngest competing. I beat a senior in Bible Memory. I couldn't believe it. It was sort of like the spelling bee. You stand up and recite 2 consecutive verses of your choosing. If you get one thing wrong (the girl lost bc she added an "S" onto the word "way" out of Isaiah) then you are eliminated. Just like a spelling bee. At the end after she got it wrong, I had to get mine right or we'd then have to keep going. I was worried because she was really good. She had 600 verses memorized. I only had about 180. I figured we'd just keep going and I'd run out of verses. So yeah. That was a big deal!!

Summer is my favorite season by far. I like to sweat. I like the heat.

I love wearing skirts and dresses.

I'm on my 2^nd day of working on this list.

I don't like doing things that are hard.

I give 15% of my income faithfully. I can't wait til I can give more once I'm debt free!

I really like old 80's music and movies.

I'm a huge Spice Girls fan. Even to this day. I do realize that is slightly crazy.

I hate speeding so much now that when people are going even 5 over it sort of freaks me out.

I have paid a lot of stupid tax. I have done dumb, dumb things that have cost me thousands of dollars.

I wish I was 5'10".

Doing the right thing always makes me feel free… I feel a freedom I haven't felt in a while.

My greatest fear is that I'll get hard hearted and cold! I never want that to happen. It frightens me when I see traces of it. You can't be real and raw when you're hard hearted. The Creator of the Universe can't use you when you're like that.

I've never dated a black guy. One of my 3 or 4 favorite men in the world is black. Dr. Ben Carson.

My favorite men in the world are, Pastor Steve Gray, Randy Lohman, Dr. Ben Carson and Bill Baird </SPAN>They are all pioneers and brilliant men. Good fathers. Good husbands. Loving. Caring. Wonderful. Of course family members like my brother don't count in this list.

I love to read. I read out loud too. I pretend to be the main character and I read all her lines out loud. I find myself crying and verbally acting out the scenes. I've done that since I was a little girl.

It has now been a week since I started this list. I think I'm officially finished with it. – I wrote the word done first instead of finished, but then I heard a voice in my head that said, "Cookies are done. People are finished." So I changed it to finished.

I LOVE TO SMILE. It inadvertently gets me noticed. Most people just aren't that nice so when someone is, they stand out.

I need to update...

I adore Dave Ramsey. I can't wait to give my testimony like Leilani and Jay did. Most people don't know the "stuff" I've gotten myself into. I am a different person now though. I have made complete lifestyle changes. Debt is no longer an option. AT ALL. NEVER. I'm on a strict BUDGET that I never ever stray from. I'm looking for a second job so I can attack my debts more. There's only so much you can do with what you have. I'm adding more to it. Dave always says, "Live like noone else now in order to live like noone else later." So yeah I'm not that excited about working more on top of my full time job, but it's worth it. I'm going to find something that I like though so it's not a chore and a hassle and nightmare.

Another thing I've struggled with is letting God help me. I've always thought that he should not have to help me with problems I created for myself. I was so sure of that too. That's ridiculous though because whose problems aren't created by themselves? Noones. Everyone lives like they want to live and their problems are created by them. How else do you explain people who overcome the greatest odds to be great people. You can't explain it except that your circumstances do not need to determin YOU.

So anyway. I now have a deeper faith and trust in God. I'm expecting a miracle. Yes I screwed up, but I'm not screwing up anymore. I'm taking care of things on my end and waiting and expecting that God will intervene. That is what He does after all.

Ok so I started this post thinking that I would just put the picture of Dave Ramsey up and this is what it turned into.

Well guys.

I'll start at the beginning. Like George said, Hi my name is Elisabet and I am a TV addict. I have been for a long time. Well lately God has really been doing a lot in me at church and in my own time. I've known for awhile that some changes needed to take place in my life. I started by not watching as much, but still watching a lot. The second I got home from wherever I was, it went on and stayed on til sometime in the middle of the night when I'd wake up and turn it off. The second I woke up it went on.

I knew it was robbing me of many things. I have been an avid avid reader my whole life. Of course the past few years that has really slowed down dramatically in favor of the tv. I was starting to notice that I wasn't speaking as well as I used to and I certainly could not write anywhere near as well as I used to. It also robbed me of time with God. Time that I should be reading the Bible or praying. It also robbed me of time spent on my business. It was robbing me of my dreams.

One day my brother told me that tv was like marijuana is to heroin or something crazy like that. He was comparing it to a drug. I thought he was crazy. Still sort of do, but I understood what he was meaning by it. It was an addiction for me.

So anyway I knew that I had to make some changes. I was talking to my best friend Rosey the other day and I was able to describe it perfectly.

The TV is like a mistress. She's not my one true love, but she does have a part of my heart and some of my love. If I were to get rid of her I would feel like part of me was missing. So I knew that it needed to be done but that it was going to be so hard. That was last week. A week went by where I knew I needed to do it, but still had not taken the plunge. I also knew that whatever space it was filling in my life needed to be filled by something else. I recognized that having an emotional attachment like that was not normal. God was competing for part of my heart with a television. Sounds ridiculous even saying it aloud.

So tonight at church we had an amazing time. On Saturday nights at our Young Adult service we are given a topic the week before and we speak for 3-5 minutes on it. Tonight's topic was God at War. A lot of people spoke about the war that God is waging just for us and our hearts. One guy spoke about how in the Old Testament the Israelites could not go into the Promised Land (in Exodus) because God had to basically war for them (they were complaining and kept turning away from God) instead of warring through them so they could conquer the Promised Land. Instead of wandering the wilderness for 40 years they could have gone into the land right away.

That really hit me. God should not have to war for me, but rather through me. That along with some great worship led me to right here.

I got rid of my TV. I'm excited for what will happen in my life. I'm excited to see what I accomplish. I'm excited to see what God does through me. I've been telling Him that I'm willing to do anything for Him. I've been telling Him that I need more of Him and asking Him what would it take to get more of you. I told Him I'd do anything. I think I finally did. I gave something up that was competing so much for my attention and taking away attention that belonged to Him.

I know this may sound extreme to some, but I just had to tell you because I've been here a couple years (I think) and many of you are like family. Especially you my A!

I don't plan on leaving the group as I'll still watch Survivor because I watch that with people so it'll still be recorded and I'll still watch AI and So You Think You Can Dance because other people like to watch it too so we can watch it together. Possibly Biggest Loser will end up being like that too. So I won't completely go away and I'll probably interject here and there, but I just wanted to let ya'll know.

I know this is crazy long so if you made it through this then I'm very grateful. Hopefully it wasn't too hard of a read.

So the Picadilly Gala is tomorrow. I need to make my cute pink hat a little cuter. It doesn't have any accesories. I'm thinking of running over to Hobby Lobby and buying something to make it cute cute like these feathers.

So Long Self

I really like this song on my site. It's got a tiny bit of cheesiness, but the words are so true.

So long self.... I love it.

There just isn't enough room for God and me. There isn't enough room for my selfishness. My self centeredness. My self will. Me self love. My self esteem. There's only room for one.

It's either me or Him.

Well I've chosen. Him. Not me. It's sure not going to be me that changes the world. It's not going to be me that raises the dead. Or me that saves lives. Or me that opens blind eyes. Or most importantly me that brings down my glory to save the children of Israel in the battle of the ages. Therefore since all of that must happen (Oh God, do not pass me by. Let me be a part of it) I choose Him.

So long self....

Does that sound extreme?... I hope it does.
